Ohio Cultivator Co., Bellevue, Ohio

The Ohio Cultivator Co. line was rather extensive, also including a series of hay presses. This model of 1910 typified the line at that time, although the company also made a series of one-and two-horse presses. Ohio hay presses and balers remain in industry listings until the 1950s when repair parts became available from the American Baler Co., also at Bellevue.

J.E. Porter Co., Ottawa, Ill.

The American Thresherman of 1904 illustrated this model of Porter’ s Hay Press, a simple two-horse model. Porter was engaged in making various kinds of farm equipment, with the Porter hay carriers being well known. However, the company disappears from the product listings by 1910 and no information has surfaced regarding its subsequent activities.
